Looking to learn more about the basics of breastfeeding and how to optimally nourish yourself and also your breastmilk? Join myself and Aryel Sawdey of Central Coast Lactation for a 3 hour class. You will learn about the rooting reflex of newborns, how to latch properly, sussing out latch issues, proper mechanics of breastfeeding, what to do if you have issues with breastfeeding and we will spend an hour on nutrition for optimal nourishment for birthing person and baby. This class is held at Santa Lucia Birth Center in SLO, it is also held via Zoom if you would like to attend in the comfort of your own home.

Postnatal Core & Floor Class
It doesn't matter if you are newly postpartum or it's been years since your last baby, this class is for you. In this 4 week series we will learn about core and pelvic floor health, issues that may arise and how to rehab and retrain and re-enter in to working out so we are stronger and better connected. This series is 4 weeks, r. Classes will be 45 minutes in length and will be held at Dharma Yoga Loft in Paso. I also offer a Zoom option as well, so for those too far away or for those where it is easier to join from home you have the option. Babes in arms are always welcome to the class.

You have the potential to support so many families here on the Central Coast of California! Our area is in need of more doula support.
Our certification program aligns with national standards, as well as local essential necessities to help you best succeed as a doula here on the Central Coast. It is a comprehensive, hands-on certification that is evidence-based.
To better serve you, we are offering two different workshops:
Intro to Doula Work-Workshop: 2 days, $250
This is a great workshop for those who have taken a certification program-but feel like they are missing the mentorship aspect that is so essential to succeed as a doula. The topics include:
o Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics
o Understanding Communication
o Birth Environments
o Physical, Emotional and Educational Support Options
o Partner Support
o Pain theories
o Informed Consent, evidence-based practices and advocacy
o Postpartum and the Newborn
Doula Training and Certification Workshop: 3 days, $600
If you are ready to take the leap and become a certified doula, this is the workshop for you!
o Attend 3 day in person workshop
o Complete online lactation or in person basic breastfeeding class
o Complete an audit of a childbirth education class
o Complete tour of local hospitals
o Read required books of your choosing from list given
o Create a resource list for your community
o Understand and sign the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics
o Essay on Scope of Practice the purpose and value of support
o Attend 3 births that meet criteria and complete birth stories and provide documentation and evaluation
o Complete a mentorship program with Brittany and/or McKayla
